Pratap bhawan is owned by Himanshu Rathore who resides in the house with his mother Mrs. Jaikirti Rathore. Pratap Bhawan was built by his father Late Brigadier Pratap Singhji Rathore (VSM , ADC ) of Nimaj in 1980. Nimaj Jagir was a fiefdom of the erstwhile state of Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

Late Brig. Pratap Singh Rathore built Pratap Bhawan as his residence in Jaipur. Since then Pratap Bhawan has almost invariably had guests as the family has always loved playing host. Born in Pratap Bhawan, it is but natural for Brig. Pratap Singhji's son Himanshu to have inculcated a strong sense of hospitality.
